Chemical Laboratory
Microwave Oven BP-301 & BP-310

BP-301 membrane touch panel allows programming of 11 power settings and 20 memories.
Introducing the BP-301 and BP-310 laboratory microwave oven from Microwave Research and Applications, Inc.  These compact ovens have features that make them ideal for chemical processing or for general laboratory heating applications.  The BP-301 has 10 programmable power levels* and up to 20 memory storage locations for convenience and repeatability.  The BP-310 has our True-To-Power™ power control system that allow the user to set any power level between 20 watts and full power making it ideal for small samples or critical processes needing that level of control. The BP-310 offers up to 10 storage locations for time settings.  With 1000 watts of microwave heating power these ovens will make quick work of your digestion, extraction or other heating applications.  The oven cavity and housing are stainless steel while the electronics are coated to resist the effects of corrosive environments.  The cavity has a powered exhaust and the fumes can be ducted directly into your fume hood.  Included is a ¼” vacuum or gas stainless steel feedthrough into the cavity.  Heating uniformity is achieved by a “mode stirrer” system located in the oven.  This eliminates the need for that turntable that so often breaks.

Feature for feature, these microwave chemical laboratory ovens offer a great value.  These are heavily constructed laboratory microwave oven that will become the workhorse of you lab.  While it is impossible to eliminate the corrosion that occurs during chemical processing our oven has shown that it will last 3-10 times longer than other microwave ovens in chemical environments.  These microwave ovens are a great choice for many analytical chemical or general laboratory uses!

* Power levels are adjustable by sequencing the microwave source on and off giving a time average power level.  For example the microwave source will be on at full power for 6 seconds and off for 6 seconds to give 50% power for 12 seconds.

Features(of both ovens unless noted)  Benefit:
Corrosion Resistance:
Component designed for heavy duty continuous use    Stands up to the heavy use in laboratory type operation.
High volume air flow out of the cavity.  Safely removes chemical fumes thus reducing corrosion.
Cavity exhaust is through a chemically resistant duct

Safely ducts corrosive chemical into fume hood system that allows the connection to a fume hood.

The cavity and housing are made from Stainless Steel

Chemically resistant materials used in the microwave ovens gives longer life.

The cavity floor is ceramic.  Chemical resistant for long life yet protects the mode stirrer.
Electronics coated with thick corrosion resistant coating  Resists corrosion giving longer life of the sensitive electronics.
The door is treated to resist corrosion.  Microwave leakage is possible if corroded.  Corrosion is virtually eliminated.
The electronics section is positively pressurized with air.    Greatly reduces the chance that chemicals attack the sensitive electronics.
Process related:
Stainless steel feedthrough for process gas or vacuum Allows for safe and easy method to introduce process cover gas or vacuum through standard ¼” tubing.
Mode stirrer in place of turntable   Mode stirrer gives great heating uniformity without turn tables.
The air flow from the cavity has two speeds       Gives the user more control of process parameters, useful with smaller samples.
Oven to be located near a fume hood instead of in it    Does not use expensive and valuable space inside the fume hood.
BP-301 allows programmable 20 programs   Allows protocols recall of your most often used programs easily for consistency.
BP-310 has infinite power levels                                            Allows precision control of power resulting in optimum heating of samples

The BP-301 controls applied microwave power by cycling the microwave power on and off.  The ratio of power on time and off time determines the average power applied.  This is a low cost method of controlling power and works well for many cases where the sample is large and can handle the higher power during the on time.  Microwave ovens used for heating food use this method of power control.

The BP-310 has the same features as the BP-301 plus our True-To-Power™ power control system that allows you to set virtually any power setting from about 20 watts to full power without the on-off power cycling.

Feature for feature, these ovens are a great value to put to work in your chemical processing laboratory.  They are heavily constructed laboratory microwave ovens that will become the workhorse of you lab.  While it is impossible to eliminate the corrosion that occurs during chemical processing our oven has shown that it will last substantially longer than other microwave ovens not designed for corrosive environments
