About Microwave Research & Applications
Microwave Research and Applications, Inc. (MRA) was formed to apply the unique properties of microwave energy for laboratory, commercial and lighter industrial applications. Prior to forming MRA in 1999, the principals had developed microwave equipment for a wide variety of related applications.
The principals, Wayne Love and James Stratton have over 50 years of combined high power microwave heating experience. We employ a cellular production method that allows great flexibility in the manufacturing process and they are involved in all of the projects from the beginning ensuring that personalized service that we believe is so valuable in successfully completing your project.
Each team member goes through training and must show that they meet established requirements before they are assigned to a particular work cell. We have dedicated research and development, office and administration, standardized production and custom assembly facilities.
How we work:
To get optimum performance even from a standard product, we will ask about your application and your expectations on performance. This is to be sure that you are purchasing the best microwave for your application.
For work of a custom nature, we start with an evaluation of your concept and an understanding of your application. We may ask you for samples for our own testing or about testing that you have already completed.
Then we apply our experience and we recommend a solution, whether it is a standard product such as a laboratory oven, or custom equipment. We work closely with you during the entire process to be sure the solution meets your expectations.
We then provide a quotation for the equipment we propose. The laboratory ovens generally have relatively short lead times, as these are standard products. Custom equipment we must design, development and manufacture.
We service everything that we sell.
We also have extensive experience with obtaining UL listing of ISM microwave products most of which there were no existing files for when we began the listing process. Of course, being in the Washington DC metropolitan area, we are also quite familiar with FCC and FDA (CDRH) compliance procedures and even the personnel at these government agencies.
Our goal:
Our initial goal is to give you an understanding of how microwave energy can be used to heat or process your materials or product and then provide you information on the feasibility of using microwave energy.
Once this is accomplished, our goal is then to provide to you the best equipment for your application.
Lastly, our goal is to meet or exceed your expectations in providing a quote, answering questions or providing testing services.
